Clearfield edges Bradford in OT

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield’s Matt Shiner sank a corner jump shot in
overtime to lead the Bisons past Bradford 48-47 in overtime.

Shiner scored nine of Clearfield’s tallies.

James Zimmerman led the Bisons with 16 points.

Pacing the Owls were Ben Lanich with a double-double, Tommy
Morris with 19 tallies and Ryan LaBrozzi with 10 points.

Lanich scored 10 points and grabbed 12 boards, while LaBrozzi
added six assists, seven rebounds and three steals.

“This was a tough loss, I thought we let it get away,” said Dave
Fuhrman, Bradford coach. “We went up 11-0 and had a chance early.
We had the lead 99 percent of the game, but we couldn’t seal the
deal.

“We haven’t been a good shooting team, we shot 36 percent from
the floor. We shot 23 free throws and they shot four.

“It was the same things tonight that have been hurting us all
year.”

The Owls were ahead 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and
also claimed a one-point lead in overtime, when Shiner’s shot put
the Bisons ahead.

Bradford came down the floor and Morris had a good look from the
wing that didn’t go. Clearfield snagged the rebound, and with that,
the game.
