The Bradford Lady Owls won all 11 events en route to a 109-57
win over St. Marys in high school swimming at Pitt-Bradford on
Thursday.
Ellie Imhof (200 medley relay, 200 IM, 100 fly, 200 free relay),
Erica Pascarella (200 medley relay, 200 free, 500 free, 400 free
relay) and Katie Slavinski (50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay, 400
free relay) quadrupled for the Lady Owls (7-3).
Katlyn Nelson (200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 100 breast) and
Bethany Russell (200 medley relay, 100 back, 400 free relay)
tripled.
“The girls had a solid performance,” BAHS coach Pam Digel said.
“It was a very balanced, solid win for the entire team. The way we
swam tonight should give the girls a lot of confidence for our last
dual meet against Clearfield next Friday as we look for some
revenge.
“We used Thursday’s meet as a marker as to where we are with our
training. With only one dual meet left we are looking toward the
postseason. I’m pleased with where they are right now.”
In the boys meet, St. Marys posted an 89-81 win over the Owls
(6-4).
Steve Forrest (200 medley relay, 200 free, 100 back, 400 free
relay) quadrupled for the Dutch. Forrest set pool records in the
100 back (56.63) and 200 free (1:49.30). The St. Marys 400 free
relay also set a pool record (3:34.06). Seth Dippold (200 medley
relay, 50 free, 400 free relay) added a triple.
Bradford’s Alex Goodman tripled (100 free, 100 breast, 200 free
relay). Goodman set a pool record in the 100 free (50.12).
“We had another good performance,” Digel noted. “We came up a
little short. St. Marys was a little bit better than we were. Our
swimmers did what we asked of them.
“Our veterans continue to hold very solid times, while some of
our rookies (Patrick Morrisroe, Dan Astor, Garrett Newhouse) are
adding some solid depth to our lineup.”
Digel said she was pleased with the performances from Matt
Anderson (200 IM, 100 breast) and Steve Cavagnaro (200 free).
