    Owls rebound to crush Chucks

BHS visited Punxsutawney – never an easy place to play – and
came away with a 66-44 District 9 League victory Friday night.

The Owls put four players in double figures and were led by Tom
Morris’ double-double of 13 points and 10 assists. Ryan LaBrozzi
scored 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds, Ben Lanich netted
11 marks and reserve Randy Confer contributed 10 points and seven
    rebounds.

Morris also picked up four steals and three rebounds, while Tom
Taylor added nine points and six assists.

The Owls recorded 23 assists on their 26 field goals in the
    game.

“We made some nice passes tonight and we had good balance with
four guys in double figures,” said Dave Fuhrman, Owls’ coach.

“Randy (Confer) played pretty well off the bench. LaBrozzi and
Morris had solid games. Drew (Kelly) gave us seven off the
    bench.

“Taylor scored nine points and we need a little scoring out of
him,” Fuhrman noted. “He had two threes, which was good to see.

“We got it inside to Lanich in the third quarter and he got
pretty active inside. He had seven of his 11 points in the
    third.

“We got a lot of contributions from a lot of people,” Fuhrman
    pointed out.

Bradford improved its shooting percentage with a 26-for-54
effort (48 percent) on 6-for-13 shooting from outside the
    three-point line.

“We looked a little lethargic at times, but I thought we came
out in the third and established pretty good control,” Fuhrman
    recalled.

“We’ll take it (the win). We’d like to start peaking in the home
stretch of the regular season. We’re trying to earn our way to the
playoffs – staying above that .500 mark. Hopefully our best
    basketball is ahead of us.”

The Owls, now 9-8 overall and 7-2 in league play, will have to
keep the offense hot at home when they host high-scoring St. Marys
on Tuesday in another District 9 League matchup.

“We have a big week next week with St. Marys at home on
Tuesday,” Fuhrman maintained. “St. Marys has been playing pretty
good ball. We’re due to play a good game at home and hopefully it
    will be Tuesday.”
