HAMBURG, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford picked
up an AMCC win on the road Thursday with a 75-73 defeat of Hilbert
College in men’s college hoops.
Mark Austin and Dan Thomas each scored 15 points for the
Panthers, Ryan Race netted 14 points, while Shawn Spindler added 11
tallies.
“This was a good win for us on the road,” UPB coach Andy Moore
said. “Ryan Race hit a big three and Mark Austin put in a big three
in the second half. We stepped it up and made the plays in the
second half.
“Race also had seven boards and played solid defense. We only
had six turnovers. We took care of the ball and played very well,
especially in the second half.”
Hilbert held a 34-26 lead at intermission.
“We talked at halftime about getting into them a little more
defensively and moving the ball offensively,” Moore emphasized. “In
the first half we were standing around, but we had better movement
and balance in the second half.”
Pitt-Bradford, which improves to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in the
Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, hosts La Roche College at
6 p.m. Saturday.
Dallas Reinard scored 30 points for Hilbert College (9-7,
5-4).
