The Bradford High swim team recorded their second consecutive
sweep Monday night at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
The Lady Owls (2-2) beat Brookville 123-45, while the Owls (3-1)
topped the Blue Raiders 95-54. Last Thursday, Bradford swept
DuBois.
In Monday’s win, Ellie Imhof, Katie Slavinski and Erica
Pascarella each quadrupled for the Lady Owls.
Imhof won the 200 IM and 100 back and swam legs on the 200
medley relay and 400 free relay. Slavinski won the 200 free and 100
fly and was on the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Pascarella
captured the 50 free and 100 free and was on the 200 free relay and
400 free relay.
Marissa Buchheit (200 medley relay, 500 free, 400 free relay)
and Katlyn Nelson (200 medley relay, 100 breast, 200 free relay)
each tripled.
“We had a solid meet,” Bradford coach Pam Digel said of both
teams. “We had a chance to put a few kids in some different events
as we are still experimenting with our lineup.”
Commenting on the girls’ meet, Digel said, “I was pleased with
Marissa (500 free), Katie (100 fly) and Hilary Digel (100 breast).
We had solid performances from kids that add depth to our squad
such as Carley Frisina and Amanda Whiteman.”
Ben Daggett and Alex Goodman continued to have strong seasons as
they both quadrupled. Daggett won the 200 free and 100 back and was
on the 200 free relay and 400 free relay, while Goodman took the
100 free and 100 breast and was on the 200 medley relay and 400
free relay.
Adam Barnes (200 medley relay, 200 IM, 500 free) added a triple
for the Owls, who won their third straight.
“It’s been a number of years since the boys have had that kind
of winning streak,” Digel pointed out. “Our leaders – Daggett,
Goodman, Barnes and Dan Gonzalez – continue to be very solid. We
have a couple swimmers not at full strength, but we have some
people stepping into their places like Matt Schwab (200 IM).
“Josh Lightner has been out with an injury, but is starting to
show some solid swims as is Vince Pascarella. Maverick Irwin,
Patrick Morrisroe and Garrett Newhouse are some rookie swimmers for
us this season. They are also starting to add to our depth.”
Bradford visits St. Marys on Thursday.
