Lady Owls fall at Clearfield

CLEARFIELD – Bradford fell to 8-5 on the season and 3-2 in the
league with a 53-50 loss against Clearfield in District 9 League
girls basketball Friday.

Leading the Lady Owls was Whitney Cline with 19 points and 10
boards.

“Cline did play well,” said Bradford coach Doug Lloyd.

Bradford put up 62 shots but only made 19.

“They played the zone and we didn’t shoot well,” Lloyd
commented. “We didn’t attack the 3-2 zone well at all. Clearfield
did what they had to do to win.”

Also keying Bradford was Shelly Fuhman with 11 marks.

“We only hit one three-pointer and Shelly made it. She is our
best three-point shooter,” Lloyd added.

Boosting the Bisons were Nikki Collins (15 tallies), Julianna
Howell (13) and Alanna Luzier (12).

“Clearfield played real well. They pushed the ball up. We were a
step behind the whole night,” Lloyd noted. “Clearfield hit a couple
of key threes to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. They
also had a lot of offensive rebounds.”

The Lady Owls host DuBois next Friday.

“I think we played a lot of good games in a row. We were due for
an off night,” Lloyd stated.
