Lady Owls trim Eisenhower, 45-42

Bradford High put three girls in double figures en route to a
45-42 non-league basketball win over previously unbeaten Eisenhower
on Monday.

Whitney Cline (13 points), Nikki Siffrinn (11) and Shelly
Fuhrman (11) sparked BAHS (4-3).

Siffrinn’s basket with six seconds left in the fourth quarter
put the hosts up 44-42. Tricia Copeland then made one free throw to
give Bradford the 45-42 lead.

Cline finished with 12 rebounds and three steals.

“Whitney played a nice game,” Bradford coach Doug Lloyd said.
“She did a nice job on the press.”

Siffrinn had five rebounds, four steals and four assists.

“Nikki handled the ball great,” the coach pointed out.

Bradford trailed 25-18 at the half, but outscored Ike 19-6 in
the third quarter to grab a 37-31 lead.

“We came out in the third quarter and played really well,” Lloyd
commented. “We played conservative in the fourth quarter. Both
teams were tired. Shelly shot the ball well and hit some big threes
in the second half.

“Meghan Perschke came off the bench and had six rebounds. She
played some tough defense. Katie White did a heck of a job on
defense. She full court presses and got a lot of tips on the ball
which led to steals.”

Elisha Jones paced Ike (4-1) with 20 tallies.

The Lady Owls visit Brookville on Wednesday.

“We are going to have to play four quarters,” Lloyd concluded.
“The difficult schedule should help us down the road. These girls
are a lot of fun to coach. It should be a great season.”
