HOLLIDAYSBURG – Amanda Ottaway poured in a game-high 24 points
to propel Hollidaysburg to a 46-39 non-league girls basketball win
over Bradford on Saturday.
Ottaway, a 6-1 junior center, had 10 rebounds and four steals
for the winners (4-1).
Leading Bradford (2-2) was Whitney Cline with 17 tallies and 12
rebounds.
“Whitney had another double-double,” BAHS coach Doug Lloyd said.
“She missed one shot the entire game. She played really well.”
Nikki Siffrinn had seven assists for the Lady Owls.
“Hollidaysburg is a big team,” Lloyd emphasized.
Katie White hit a three-pointer to knot the game at 38-38 with a
little over three minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Bradford then had a chance to take the lead but missed a shot.
Hollidaysburg then hit a couple of buckets to grab the lead.
“The game could have gone either way,” Lloyd maintained. “We
played pretty well. Meghan Perschke came off the bench and scored
eight points.
“It was a good game to watch. Both teams played well. It was a
tough one to lose. We have to hit that big shot to beat these
teams.”
Bradford hosts Elk County Catholic on Wednesday.
