ELDRED – A 22-year-old male was struck by a small pickup truck
in the vicinity of Costa’s grocery store in Eldred about 4 p.m.
Tuesday.
According to Otto-Eldred Regional Police, a truck, driven by a
local man whose identity was not released by police, was traveling
south on Route 446 in Eldred Borough when a pedestrian, whose name
was not released, entered the roadway from the right side of the
road and was struck.
The pedestrian was taken by Eldred Borough Ambulance to the
Bradford Regional Medical Center for treatment. No information was
available as to his condition.
Police said there was no indication of any traffic violations in
connection with the accident.
Police said there were no adverse road conditions at the time.
The road was closed for 15 to 20 minutes. Local traffic was
detoured around the accident; truck traffic remained waiting until
the accident was cleared.
Assisting at the scene were the Borough Fire Department, along
with Officer Jeremy Kozmac and Chief Craig Switzer of the O-E
Police Department.
The investigation is continuing.
