DUKE CENTER – Whitney Cline put up a double-double of 18 points
and 13 rebounds to lift Bradford over Otto-Eldred 66-43 in
non-league girls hoops Tuesday.
Leading nine other Lady Owls in the scoring column, Shelly
Fuhrman netted 15 marks and Nicole Siffrinn added 13 points.
Bradford jumped out to a 35-17 halftime advantage and sealed the
victory by outscoring the Lady Terrors 15-6 in the third
period.
“Tricia Copeland and Kayla Murphey came off the bench and
sparked us defensively,” emphasized Doug Lloyd, BHS coach. “They
picked us up on the press and caused a lot of turnovers.
“Meghan Perschke had four steals and that helped us, too,” Lloyd
noted. “This was a great team win.
“Our pressure defense hurt them (O-E), but they battled all the
way. They have a nice team.”
Courtney Halstead tallied 16 points to pace the Lady Terrors
(1-2).
Bradford improves to 2-1 on the young season. The Lady Owls play
host to Eisenhower on Thursday.
O-E hosts Kane on Monday.
