RTS for Tuesday

A FEW MORE: “Enough of the Florida vs. Bradford debate – if
Florida is so great, stay there, and if there is so much about
Bradford they ‘miss’ why don’t they move back and help our local
economy!”

We, too, think this dialogue has about run its course. But in
fairness to our Florida friends, we do have just a few more
arguments to print. Then, we promise, we’ll move on.

Paula Rizzuti Ernst writes: “I was born in Bradford and moved to
Florida when I was 12 years old. I am now 42 years old. I thank God
every day that my parents moved us. There is so much more
opportunity and is actually livable in Florida.”

“I now have children and while the time they have spent in
Bradford was enjoyable, they could not believe people really
enjoyed living there year round.

“Every place has their drawbacks but in this case there is no
comparison. I don’t know anyone who has ever moved back to PA to
live – only to visit. Have a nice winter. I know I will.”

And, this, from Margaret Sutterlin: “I, too, am a native of
Bradford and have been in Florida for 48 years. I have definitely
seen the changes that have taken place in Florida with development
etc. However, in my many visits to Bradford I have also seen many,
many changes.

“It was a beautiful place when I lived there and had a wonderful
education, and all of the above, and I still think of it as home
after all these years. However, I will say to all the people that
think Florida is so bad – leave, go back to Bradford and you will
really help out their economy and perhaps you can fill up some of
their ghetto houses, and solve all of there problems up there.

“I believe that if there was an ideal place we would all want to
be there, and at one time these people thought that this was the
ideal place or they would not have come here, so as the Floridian
says, ‘Turn the lights out, and go back home.’ The end.”

OUR TURN: Once the first snow flake falls, most honest
Bradfordians would admit that spending a month or two of winter in
Florida would be awesome. Count us among that disloyal number.
