SMETHPORT – Chris Cavallari scored two touchdowns to key
Coudersport to a 22-0 victory over Smethport in AML football
Friday.
“The game was played on a very muddy field,” stated Paul Simcoe,
Coudy coach. “These were the worst playing conditions I have ever
seen in 34 years of coaching.”
Cavallari’s touchdowns came on runs of six and 32 yards. He
totalled 29 carries for 148 yards.
“Cavallari would have run better on a dry field but he did a
nice job of keeping the ball under control,” commented Simcoe.
Also leading the Falcons was Justin Kinder with a one-yard
touchdown run.
Leading the Hubbers was Tom Cooney with 16 carries for 55
yards.
“Our kids did not make the big plays when we needed them,” Rob
Cosper, Smethport coach, noted. “We missed open recievers on passes
and we didn’t recover fumbles to bring us within a reasonable
chance of winning the game.”
The Hubbers (0-8) host Elk County Catholic next Friday.
