SPCA calendar contest winners announced

The top 10 winners of the annual SPCA calendar contest have been
announced with the first place winner as the Congress Street Shop
Kitty who received the highest votes totaling $1,012.77.

The owner of the cat is Susan Godfrey.

Total collected of $3,170.61 was collected during the contest
which ran from July 24 to Sept. 25. Winners will appear in the 2007
SPCA Pet Calendar which will be available in November. All proceeds
benefit the McKean County SPCA.

Second place winner was a dog named Willow, owners Scott and
Lori Neilly; dogs Jade and Echo were third place, owner Linda C.
Kemick; cat and dog combination of Blizzard and Sunshine Mille,
owned by the James Family received fourth place; and Albert, a dog
owned by Greg Malekos and Pam Vecellio came in fifth place.

Cathy Leopold’s cat, Barney, earned sixth place; a dog named
Mollie, owned by Amanda Behan came in seventh place with donations;
Max and Otis, two dogs owned by Phil and Misty Heasley received
eight place honors; Tyson, a dog, owned by Brittany Holsinger and
Nate Clark received ninth place; and Mocha, a dog, owned by
Michelle Wheeler came in 10th place with donations.

There were 44 total entries of dogs and cats. There were 24
honorable mentions as well.
