Lady Owls beat St. Marys, 5-2

ST. MARYS – Bradford High improved its girls soccer record to
11-2-1 with a 5-2 win over St. Marys on Monday.

Lindsay Sherman and Meagan Little each scored two goals, while
Alexa Wilton had one goal.

Katie White was credited with two assists and Kayla Murphey,
Katie Vecellio and Leah Anderson had one apiece.

Chelsea Rinfrette was the winning goaltender, making five
saves.

Kaitlyn Gaton and Missy Aul scored for the Lady Dutch.

Emily Hathorn was in goal for the hosts, making 10 stops.

“We played on a short and narrow field so it took a while for us
to get in a rhythm,” BAHS coach Tony Doriguzzi said. “In the second
half everything came together and we really started to play as a
unit.

“Meagan Little and Lindsay Sherman worked really well together
up front. Meagan scored a beautiful goal in the first half that
even the St. Marys fans were impressed with.

“BriAnne Gleason had a phenomenal game at fullback. This was
only her second start at fullback but she played a great tactical
game. I was more than pleased with her performance.

“I thought that St. Marys defender Taryn Burford played a fine
defensive game. She was very aggressive to the ball and kept us
from adding a few more goals.”

Bradford visits Jamestown, N.Y., on Wednesday.
