Coudy wins battle of unbeatens; NoPo, Port, Austin post wins

In a battle of North Tier League unbeatens, Coudersport pulled
out a 25-23, 25-27, 25-18, 25-18 triumph over Oswayo Valley on
Tuesday night.

Jessica Wilson (20 kills, 24 digs, 7 blocks), Brianna Vought (8
kills, 17 points, 4 aces), Melissa Gerner (10 digs, 5 points, 3
aces), Jordan Bright (6 blocks, 12 points) and Karli Duffee (25
assists, 11 points) sparked the winners (9-1, 7-0).

Leading OV (9-1, 6-1) were Brittany Kellogg (13 kills, 34 digs,
8 points, 2 aces), Randi Pearsall (25 digs, 5 blocks), Emily McColl
(11 points, 2 aces, 23 digs) and Brittany Mertsock (25
assists).

“The team played excellent defense,” Coudy coach Greg Stone
said. “We did an excellent job transitioning to set up our
offense.”

Coudy visits Smethport on Thursday.

Elsewhere, Northern Potter improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in
the league with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-17 win over Smethport.

Laura Kalasnik (10 points, 6 kills, 1 block, 2 aces, 9 digs),
Brittany Rounds (8 points, 10 kills, 2 aces, 15 digs) and Emily
Gamble (6 points, 7 kills, 11 assists, 10 digs) paced NoPo.

Leading Smethport were Matti Baker (7 points, 2 aces, 5 kills, 5
blocks), Stephanie Black (6 points, 3 aces, 5 assists) and Megan
Woods (5 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 2 blocks).

NoPo hosts Oswayo Valley on Thursday.

In other action, Port Allegany (3-5, 2-5) rallied to beat
Cameron County 19-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-11.

Lauren Delacour (15 kills), Chelsea Tucker (11 kills, 11 digs, 3
aces), Brianna Bizzaro (9 kills) and Lindsay Fox (23 assists, 6
aces) keyed Port.

Karen Kesterholt (13 kills, 18 digs), Brittany Grimm (6 kills, 7
blocks) and Jessica Ellenberger (4 kills, 7 digs) led CCHS
(1-6).

Port Allegany hosts Otto-Eldred on Thursday.

Austin claimed a 25-14, 25-20, 14-25, 24-26, 15-11 victory over
Otto-Eldred.

Sonni Gordnier scored 24 points, had eight aces and eight kills
to power Austin. Also sparking the Lady Panthers were Whitney
Crosby (6 points, 12 kills, 1 block), Rayna Valenti (12 points, 6
aces, 12 kills) and Melissa Sinnamond (9 points, 3 aces, 2 kills,
34 assists).

Leading Otto-Eldred were Melanie Schoonover (12 points, 4 aces,
12 assists, 9 digs), Brittany Hepfer (9 points, 9 kills, 18 digs)
and Justine Wilkins (13 points, 4 aces, 4 kills, 11 digs).

Austin is 4-3 on the season, while Otto-Eldred falls to 2-5 in
league and 5-5 overall.

Austin travels to Cameron County on Thursday.
