The Bradford Owls’ cross country team defeated Kane 15-49 to
improve their record to 7-0 Tuesday.
“We took time to honor our five seniors and some of them took
the opportunity to run well in their last race on their home
course,” said Tom Tessena, Bradford coach.
Senior Jared Feura took first place with a time of 17:35.ð
“Jared’s time was pretty good considering the course was very
muddy,” Tessena said.
Senior Colton Langianese took second in 18:03. Matthew and
Michael White were third and fourth, respectively, in 18:16 and
18:20.
Senior Mike Foerstner placed fifth in 18:33 and freshman Adam
Barnes completed the Owls sweep of the first six places with a time
of 18:54.ð
Kane’s Cameron Moran broke the Owls up with a seventh-place
finish in 18:58.ð
Feura was named the Owl Runner of the Meet while Foerstner was
the Most Improved Owl.ð
“Our first six guys ran really well. We have the Ridgway
Invitational coming up Saturday and I would like to get my district
lineup set,” Tessena added.
Also running for the Owls were Shroy Mukerjee in eighth, 19:05,
Rich Bartlebaugh 10th, 19:11, Evan Feura 12th, 19:51, John Karrasch
13th, 20:05, Patrick Perschke 14th, 20:07 and Corey Little 15th,
20:36.
“Our younger guys are coming on and are giving us some real
depth. I think they see they have to really step up next year if we
are going to keep our string of district titles going,” Tessena
added.
“St. Marys is getting better each week and we are going to have
to run hard to beat them this Saturday.”
In the 7th and 8th grade meet the Falcons exacted some revenge
on the Kane Wolves, who defeated the Fretz squad recently at the
Bradford Invitational.”ð
Fretz won 25-30. Zach Acton took first place in a time of 10:02,
Northern Potter’s Steven Kibbe and Jeremy Aemsy took second and
third in times of 10:05 and 10:09. Kane’s Martin Ross was fourth in
10:24 and Andrew Jeffers of Northern Potter was 5th in 10:41.ð
Also running for Bradford were Anthony Graves who took sixth in
a personal best time of 11:00, Alex Fair who placed seventh in
11:09, Tyler Carlson took ninth in 11:34, also a personal best, and
Jamie Karrasch placed 10th in 11:36.
