Bradford High extended its soccer winning streak to five with a
5-1 win over DuBois Central Catholic on Wednesday.
Steve Butler and Adam Feura each scored twice, while Micah Irwin
added the team’s other goal.
Cody Nuzzo had two assists and Butler and Irwin were credited
with one assist apiece.
Micah Ridley and Andy Thomson combined for three saves in goal
for the Owls (6-2).
Zane Tylwalk had an unassisted goal for the visitors.
The Owls trailed 1-0 early in the first half, but rallied to
deadlock the game 1-1 at the half.
“We scored four second-half goals,” BAHS coach Wes Lohrman said.
“The chemistry that I talked about a couple of games back is
starting to come together. The guys have been focusing on that.
“We are getting positive leadership from our captains. We are
taking very positive steps and our team is growing stronger with
each practice and game.”
The Owls host Jamestown, N.Y., at noon Saturday at Foster Brook
Township Park. The JV game will follow the varsity contest.
“We are starting to get in shape,” Lohrman admitted. “We have a
tough part of our schedule coming up.”
