Bradford tied Clearfield 0-0 in double overtime Wednesday in
high school soccer action.
Chelsea Rinfrette had 17 saves for the Lady Owls.
Protecting the goal for Clearfield was Meghan Boyles with 12
saves.
“We brought our “A” game today but unfortunately, so did
Clearfield,” said Tony Doriguzzi, Bradford High coach. “This was a
battle from start to finish and both sides played an intense,
well-fought game.
“Even though I would have liked to have this match in the win
column, a draw is still huge for us. They are the defending
District 9 champions, and we beat them and tied them this season.
The ladies left it all on the field tonight, and I know our
coaching staff couldn’t be more proud.
“Tricia Copeland had nothing short of an amazing defensive game.
She denied Clearfield’s attack on numerous occasions. She really
helped keep us in the game.
“Our goalkeeper, Chelsea Rinfrette, had a great night. She
denied all 17 of Clearfield’s shots on goal. She made some sweet
saves that could have easily been goals.
“I could say something great about every player after this game.
It may be a cliche but it was a total team effort.”
In JV action, Bradford (3-2) fell to Clearfield 2-1.
Adrienne Sloan scored Bradford’s goal on an assist from Danielle
Harbaugh.
Chelsey Colosimo was in goal for the Lady Owls with six
saves.
Bradford, now 8-1-1 on the season, travels to Warren on
Saturday.
