ST. MARYS – Elk County Catholic snapped Bradford’s seven-game
winning streak Thursday with a 1-0 win over the Lady Owls in high
school soccer action.
ECC’s Elena Reed found the net for the night’s only goal.
Emily Radkowski was in goal for the Lady Crusaders with 12
saves.
Bradford’s Chelsea Rinfrette had 11 saves in goal.
“We had plenty of opportunities to put them away but we did not
capitalize on those chances,” said Tony Doriguzzi, BAHS coach.
“Unfortunately, we let them stay in the game, and ECC worked hard
and scored the game winner midway through the second half.
“We just didn’t finish the ball well – that is something we will
concentrate our training on this weekend.
“ECC has improved quite a bit since our first meeting this
season when we beat them 4-0. ECC keeper Emily Radkowski played
another great game.
“Our keeper, Chelsea Rinfrette, turned in a solid performance as
well. She made some fine saves and did a nice job of launching our
counter attacks.”
In JV action, Bradford (3-1) defeated ECC 2-0.
Adrienne Sloan and BriAnne Gleason each had one goal. Brooke
Milbrandt had an assist.
Chelsey Colosimo and Mel Little shared goaltending duties with
two combined saves.
The Lady Owls (7-1) will be home Monday to face Port
Allegany.
