Two seriously injured in three separate motorcycle crashes

Two people were seriously injured in two of three separate
motorcycle accidents over the weekend in Foster Township.

At 1:40 a.m. Sunday, a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Robert
W. Bosley Jr., 29, of 210 Academy St., Salamanca, N.Y., was
southbound on Seaward Avenue, when it crossed the centerlines and
traveled into the oncoming lane while rounding a curve. The
motorcycle left the road and traveled into a yard at 600 Seaward
Ave.; it drove through a speed sign and a fence, across a driveway,
into another section of fence and into two mailboxes.

Bosley was ejected from the motorcycle, police said, and came to
rest against the fence post.

Bosley was reportedly taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center,
and then to Hamot Medical Center in Erie by Stat MedEvac emergency
helicopter. He was listed in serious condition Sunday at Hamot,
police said.

Police said he was wearing a helmet.

The accident was alcohol-related, according to the Foster
Township Police, and charges are pending. The accident is still
under investigation.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Derrick City Volunteer
Fire Department and Bradford ambulance BR 8.

The Bosley crash was the third of three motorcycle accidents in
less than 12 hours, police said.

“Normally, we have one (a motorcycle accident) every two or
three months,” Foster Township Police Officer Tom Munn said Sunday.
“This time we had three in less than 12 hours.”

At 9:15 p.m. Saturday, a motorcycle driven by David Cremen, 32,
of 11660 Bixby Hill Road, Arcade, N.Y., was westbound on Route 646
near its intersection with Summit Road when it went out of control
on some gravel, crossed the road and into the oncoming lane before
skidding off the road into some weeds, Foster Township Police
said.

Both Cremen and his passenger, Aurora Cremen, 30, also of Bixby
Hill Road, were ejected from the motorcycle.

The Cremens were taken from the scene in a personal vehicle
-ðthe tow truck that transported the motorcycle, police said.
Neither were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, police said,
and were not injured.

Earlier on Saturday, the first of the trio of crashes happened
at 3:35 p.m. near the same intersection on Route 646.

A motorcycle driven by Freeman E. Smith Jr., 54, of Painted
Post, N.Y., was eastbound on Route 646, traveling toward Duke
Center, police said, when it went out of control and left the road,
ejecting Smith.

A Stat MedEvac helicopter transported the victim from a landing
zone at the Bradford Mall to a Arnot Ogden Medical Center in
Elmira, N.Y., where there was no information on his condition
Sunday night.

Smith was wearing a helmet, police said.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Bradford City ambulance
and Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department.
