Johnson replaces Lopus as CEO at Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc.

Long-time health care professional Lisa Johnson of Bradford
recently took the helm at Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc., serving as
chief executive officer of the corporation, as well as
administrator at the Ecumenical Home.

Johnson started volunteering her time at the Bradford Ecumenical
Home at a young age, she said in a release issued to The Era
Thursday.

“I remember playing cards, providing manicures and visiting with
the residents, just like it was yesterday,” she said.

Johnson started her official career at Bradford Ecumenical Home
Inc. in 1994, when she was attending Slippery Rock University
majoring in health services administration.

“I wanted to spend my summers at home with my family. In
preparation for graduation, I needed to complete an internship in a
health care setting,” Johnson said. “I knew that a nursing home was
a natural fit for me. I contacted all the area nursing homes and
sent letters of interest. After receiving a telephone call and
interviewing at Bradford Ecumenical Home, my career path
began.”

She spent more than eight years with the Ecumenical Home and
Chapel Ridge in several different positions. Most recently, she
served as the administrator of Chapel Ridge Assisted Living
Community from 1998 to 2002. In 2002, Johnson left the corporation
to raise her family, she said.

Johnson said Friday afternoon that she couldn’t recall exactly
when Mike Lundgren, chairman of the board of Bradford Ecumenical
Home Inc., approached her to inquire if she was interested in
serving as CEO and administrator, but did say her first official
day at her new post was Sept. 1.

“I am thrilled to be back at Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. and
look forward to working with our wonderful staff, residents and
their families,” Johnson said.

Johnson replaces the former chief executive officer, Terry
Lopus, who resigned.

It was unclear Thursday night why or when Lopus resigned.

Marcia Avey of Bradford is currently the administrator at Chapel
Ridge.

“Lisa brings years of experience in health care and has proven
to be a very compassionate, professional and competent
administrator. Lisa’s knowledge and expertise will be an asset to
our organization and the community,” Lundgren said in the release
about Johnson’s appointment.

Johnson and her husband, Sam, reside in Bradford with their two
young children.
