Local youth finish well in state bowling championships

Youth bowling begins this Saturday at Byllye Lanes and among the
returning bowlers will be members of the Class A state championship
team.

The Byllye Lanes team topped 40 other entries in the Class A
division with a 3,040 handicap total. The tourney was held in
Reading.

Team members were Justin Feldman, Tim Hulings, David Reinhardt
and Steven Reinhardt. They received scholarships in the amount of
$100 each and a plaque.

Finishing third in the same division was the team, The
Disciples, with a 2,861 handicap total. Team members were Cory
Hale, Joshua Spring, Mark Lekanka, and Mark Stimlinger. They
received scholarships in the amount of $35 each.

Justin Feldman, bowling against 42 other participants in the
Boys AA Singles Division, was the state champion with an 857
handicap total. He received a $110 scholarship and a plaque.

In the Boys A Singles, Steven Reinhardt placed 23rd with a 613
handicap total and Tim Hulings 29th with a 597 handicap total.
There were 114 entries in this division.

In the Boys A All Events Scratch Division, with 102 entries, Tim
Hulings finished third and received a $40 scholarship.

David Reinhardt finished fourth in the Boys B All Events and
received a $35 scholarship. There were 77 entries in this
division.

Tim Hulings and Steven Reinhardt placed seventh of 56 entries in
the Boys A Doubles with a 1,250 handicap total. In the same
division with a handicap total of 1,127, David Reinhardt and Justin
Feldman finished 29th.

Teams are currently being formed for the new season which begins
this Saturday. The Pee Wee League will bowl at 9 a.m. The Prep
League will also bowl at 9 a.m.

The Junior League starts at 11 a.m. and the Major League at 1
p.m.

Bowlers are asked to check in 15 minutes before squad time in
order to be assigned to starting lanes.
