Lady Owls shut out ECC

Lindsay Sherman had three goals and Alexa Wilton scored one to
lead Bradford High to a 4-0 win over Elk County Catholic Friday in
high school girls’ soccer action.

Sherman and Wilton each had an assist. Katie White and Amanda
Morrison also had an assist each for the Lady Owls.

“Junior Lindsay Sherman came through for the team big tonight
with a hat trick plus an assist,” said Bradford High coach Tony
Doriguzzi. “She made some smart tactical decisions that helped us
win the match.

“Freshman Alexa Wilton was aggressive to the ball,” Doriguzzi
continued. “I love her style of play. Midfielders Kayla Murphey,
Meagan Little and Leah Anderson generated a lot of great chances
for us this evening and the relentless play of Katie White made
things happen.”

Chelsea Rinfrette was in goal for the Lady Owls and recorded
eight saves.

“Our defensive unit turned in a stellar performance,” Doriguzzi
said. “Whitney Cline, Tricia Copeland, Katie Vecellio and Amanda
Morrison all were dead tired at the end of the match, as they
worked extremely hard to preserve the shutout for first year keeper
Chelsea Rinfrette, who has made a nice transition from field player
to the goalkeeping role.”

The Bradford High JV also recorded a win over ECC, 1-0.

Scoring for Bradford was Danielle Harbaugh, with an assist from
Meghan Hollenbeck.

Chelsey Colosimo was in goal for the JV Lady Owls, with five
saves.

Bradford returns to action Tuesday as they host Kane.
