Terry Reiley and Mick Marshall claimed low gross honors with a
score of 67 in the men’s first flight of the Bradford Regional
Medical Center Golf and Sporting Clays Charity Classic on Friday at
the Pennhills Club.
In second place for low gross were Troy Smith and Chris Colosimo
with a score of 69, while the teams of Rick Wight and Jay Pecora
carded 71 to place third, winning on a match of cards over Shawn
Huber and Norm Strotman Jr. who also shot 71.
Low net winners were Scott McCann and Dan Kellam with 57. Dan
Brinsky and Jeff Gable carded 58 for second place, while George
Leonhardt and Tom Arrowsmith (59) claimed third, Joe Colosimo and
Dave Lawson (60) came in fourth and fifth place went to Rev. Art
Cox and Fred Smith (61).
In the second flight, Don Fredeen and Dan McCune earned low
gross honors with a score of 77. Second place went to Pat Ryan and
Chris Hauser (78), Ron Zydonik and Rich Zydonik came in third (79)
and fourth place went to Tim Burns and Troy Copella, who had a
score of 80.
Low net honors in the men’s second flight went to John Auteri
and Mike Shanks, who carded 52. Mike Alviti and Jack Alviti were
second with 54. The team of Bill Galey and Rick Pedine were third
with 55, fourth went to Chris Funk and Marty Ours (59) and Joe
Costanzo and Dr. Ed Konwinski came in fifth with a score of 61.
In the women’s flight, low gross winners were Sue Martin and
Kathleen Taylor with 82, while low net winners were Mary Sue Golen
and Jan Brown with 62.
Mixed flight low gross winners were Bernadette Smith and Greg
Grenci with 81. Earning low net honors in the mixed flight were
Roger Hanson and Augusta Kairys with 59, while second went to
Nellie Wallace and Wendall Wallace (63).
Skills contest winners were Pat Ryan (straightest drive, all),
Todd Vanderstrom (closest to pin, men), Roger Hansen (longest putt,
all), Jay Pecora (straightest drive, men), Norm Strotman Jr.
(longest drive men handicap 18-and-under), Susanne Bastedo (closest
to pin, women), Virginia Digel-Neel (straightest drive, women), Jan
Brown (longest drive women handicap 18-and-under), Dave Lawson
(longest putt, all), Joanne Poppenberg (longest putt, women), Ron
Zydonik (closest to pin, men), John Calcagno (closest to creek,
all), John Auteri (longest drive men handicap 19-and-over), Terry
Reiley (longest drive, all), Patsy Arrowsmith (longest drive women
handicap 19-and-over), Dan Rees (straightest drive, all), Jan Brown
(closest in two shots, women) and Shawn Huber (closest in two
shots, men).
The Bradford Gun Club hosted the sporting clays portion of the
BRMC Golf and Sporting Clays Charity Classic on Saturday.
A total of 44 shooters each fired at 100 sporting clays targets
over the 18-station sporting clays course.
Mark Platko of Bradford took Class A honors with a score of 93.
Two targets behind with a 91 in the Class A runner-up spot was Gary
Boser also of Bradford.
Pittsford, N.Y.’s Bob Bernatovich took the Class B trophy with a
score of 82, while Larry Stoddard of Bradford claimed Class B
runner-up. Stoddard also had an 82, but lost on reverse score
tiebreaker.
Steve Sherk Sr. of Bradford had a 72 to claim Class C top
honors. Also with a 72 was Painted Post, N.Y.’s Roger Test who took
the runner-up spot based upon reverse score.
Tim Barnhart of Beaver claimed the Class D trophy with a 52. Vic
Posnic of Butler took the Class D runner-up spot with a 51.
The individual station winners were Andy Hanson, Pat Gainer,
John Robinson, Gerry Pehonsky, Damon Nupher, Chuck Mosley, Fred
Gainer, Mark Platko, Jack Patterson, Scott Becker, Scott
Williamson, Gary Boser, Steve Zimmer, Dave Laux, Larry Stoddard,
Bob Bernatovich, Tim Herbstommer and Herm Glover.
