LOOKOUT: This bear captured on camera at 37 Stephen Lane seems
to be just hanging around.[neWLine]

Audrey Beckes took the photo on July 24 as the bear was in
pursuit of a hummingbird feeder on her porch.[neWLine]

The Rev. Lee Beckes, who dropped by with the picture, tells us
his wife “”told”” the bear “”that’s enough now”” and went inside
the house. But the bear, which had climbed directly out of the
woods onto the Beckes’ front porch, was not deterred.[neWLine]

Lee tells us it was the first time they had seen this particular
bear which he guessed weighed about 85 pounds – we’d call it a
“”teen-age bear.””[neWLine]

Before you wonder, the hummingbird feeder has been taken down
and the Beckes since have seen neither hide nor hair of their furry
friend.[neWLine]

BUY ONE!: It’s not too late to order an engraved brick from the
Foster Township Park committee.[neWLine]

Barb White tells us that all money raised will be used to
enhance the park on North Fourth Street.[neWLine]

“”We have sold bricks to honor newborns, advertise businesses or
as memorials. This is a permanent way to preserve a special
memory,”” she said.[neWLine]

Barb adds, “”Come on, soccer supporters, buy a brick. We need
your help!””[neWLine]

More information is available from Barb,105 Russell Blvd.; and
order forms are available at the Foster Township
office.[neWLine]

COMING SOON: Gary Barr gets a little nostalgic for home: “”I
always remember the St. Rocco festival this time of year. It seems
it was held in August. It brings back memories of going to the
Italian-American Club with my Dad. I remember how good it smelled,
with all the cooking. I would like to have a recipe for Pasta
Fagula if anyone has one.””[neWLine]

Gary has some pretty good timing. The Festa Italiana is a week
away and we’re sure someone could come up with a recipe for “”pasta
fagioli.””
