Area Golfers advance to Championship Flight

OLEAN, N.Y. – Jon Chaddock of Fillmore, N.Y., earned medalist
honors in the opening round of the Southwestern New
York-Northwestern Pennsylvania Men’s Amateur Golf Tournament at
Bartlett Country Club on Wednesday.

Chaddock beat John Forrest of Birch Run on the first playoff
hole. Both golfers finished regulation with 72s.

Dan Reiley of the Pennhills Club carded 73 to advance to today’s
championship flight.

Norm Strotman from Pine Acres Country Club fired a 75, while Tom
Smith (Pennhills) had a score of 77 to move into the championship
flight.

Terry Reiley (Pennhills) advanced to the championship flight
after recording an eagle on hole one in a playoff.

Nick Marzo of Coudersport shot 78 to qualify for the
championship flight.

Smith will play Andy Whalen of Binghamton, N.Y., today. Whalen
is the number one player out of St. Bonaventure. Terry Reiley will
play Chaddock today.

Advancing to the first flight were David Horn from Coudersport
(82) and Josh Sykes (Bavarian Hills, St. Marys) with 83.
