Cameron County still alive in state playoffs

EMPORIUM – The Cameron County Senior Little League team is still
alive in the state tournament.

Cameron County defeated Weston Park 8-1 late Sunday night and
will have to beat Montoursville twice today to win the
championship.

Cameron Clingan belted a three-run home run and Jordan Crane a
two-run double to key Cameron County over Weston Park.

Dave Lyon was the mound winner, hurling a one-hitter, striking
out 10 and walking eight.

Everyone in Cameron County’s starting lineup had a hit.

Cameron County will play Montoursville at 4:30 p.m. A win would
send them into the winner-take-all title game at 7:30 p.m.

Earlier Sunday, Montoursville eked out a 3-2 win over Cameron
County. Garrett Hornung had a solo home run for the hosts.

On Saturday, Cameron County posted a 9-5 eight-inning win over
Highlands.

Clingan and Crane were on the hill, firing a five-hitter for
Cameron County.

Lyon drilled a three-run double in the top of the eighth to
spark Cameron County.
