Raabe Classic parade slated

A parade from downtown Bradford to Parkway Field and the annual
tailgate party in Callahan Park will highlight this year’s pre-game
activities for the Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic.

The 2006 parade Aug. 5 will step off from Main and Davis
streets. at 2:30 p.m., proceeding down Main Street, Mechanic
Street, West Washington Street and Interstate Parkway to Parkway
Field.

In addition to the 2006 players, coaches, homecoming queens and
cheerleaders, the parade will feature a number of Zem Zem Shriners’
units and the Bradford Area High School Marching Owls under the
direction of Kathy Thumpston. The candidates for Miss McKean County
Fair Queen will also take part.

The Big 30 Committee also invites any interested marching bands,
alumni bands, drill teams, color guards, social groups or sports
organizations to take part. Groups should provide their own
decorated vehicle or march as a group.

Interested groups may send a name, phone number and other
pertinent information to the Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic,
P.O. Box 82, Bradford, Pa., 16701, to the attention of the Special
Events Committee.

At the conclusion of the parade the tailgate party will commence
in Callahan Park until 5 p.m. when the gates to Parkway Field open
in preparation for the game’s kick off at 7:30 p.m.
