No one was injured when a camp and travel trailer were destroyed
by fire early Sunday evening along Route 321 in Marshburg.
According to Corydon Township Volunteer Fire Department
Assistant Chief Dave Lechiara, a total of 25 firefighters from four
departments responded to the call of a “fully involved structure
fire” about 5:10 p.m.
Lechiara said the blaze destroyed an abandoned camp and travel
trailer. He said Sunday he was uncertain who owned the
property.
The Corydon, Lafayette and Bradford township volunteer fire
departments responded to the scene, as well as a tanker from the
Lewis Run Borough Volunteer Fire Department. Priority Care
ambulance and personnel from the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department
also assisted.
Firefighters were on scene about 1 1/2 hours, Lechiara said.
He said the property was “a total loss,” but did not yet have a
dollar value for the damages.
Lechiara said a state police fire marshal will investigate the
fire and determine the cause and origin of it. He said he didn’t
expect to see the fire marshal until at least Tuesday, as
investigations are apparently “backed up.”
