Nate Schwab smashed an RBI double in the sixth inning to send
Smethport-Mount Jewett to a 3-2 win over the Warren Americans in a
District 10 Major Division Little League all-star baseball game
Wednesday.
Schwab’s hit scored Kevin Lord who reached on a fielder’s
choice.
Jory Okerlund earned the mound win, scattering six hits,
whiffing seven and walking one.
Tyler Fantaskey took the loss, giving up four hits, while
striking out 12 and walking five.
Lord finished the game 2-for-3 with an RBI double and an RBI
single.
Kory Thomas and Fantaskey each went 2-for-3 for the
Americans.
Smethport-Mount Jewett is at the Warren Nationals at 6 p.m.
Monday.
In other action, the Warren Nationals beat Bradford 32-2 in four
innings.
The Nats used a 25-hit attack (6 home runs, 6 doubles) en route
to the victory.
Hank Morrison was the mound winner. Aaron Fishkin took the
loss.
Mike Nowicki, Andrew Bevevino, T.J. Latimer, Drew Johnson, Brad
Simmons and Morrison homered for the Nats. Preston Means added two
doubles and collected five RBIs. Johnson had five RBIs, while
Nowicki and Morrison had four each.
Bradford had four hits.
Elsewhere, David Reinhardt hurled a two-hitter to lead McKean to
a 7-4 win over Kane.
Reinhardt struck out 14 and walked five in the complete game
effort.
Tommy Smith (double), Nate Rhoades (2-for-4, 3 RBIs) and Evan
Smith (2-for-4) led McKean.
Nathan Allen and Tyler Ennis were on the mound for Kane,
scattering nine hits, striking out six and walking seven.
Josh Kibbie had a two-run home run for Kane.
McKean is at Bradford at 6 p.m. Friday.
