The team of Dave Kahm and Matt Kahm shot 69 to win the low gross
portion of the Zippo Open on Saturday at the Pennhills Club.
They were challenged by Norm Strotman and Ryan Swanson (70),
Terry Reiley and Dan Reiley (71), Tom Smith and Steve Kubiak (74),
Chris Drongosky and Dave Rackus (75) and Matt Pochily and Mike
Pochily (75).
Paul Kessel and Jim Curcio carded 62 to win the low net event.
They were chased by A.J. Moeke and Steve Sabitini (64), Jim Pingie
and Dave DeFrank (66), Mike Martin and Bill Rote (66), Dave Monago
and Matt Monago (66), Paul Westerburg and Les VanGorder (67) and
Mike Zolner and Dave Mendell (68).
Jan Brown and Mary Sue Golen shot 89 to win the low gross
women’s competition.
Kim Borkowski and Judy Abbey shot 68 to win the low net tourney.
Marcia Bower and Kathy Taylor shot 71 for second place.
Ron Bacha and Mike Tolin shot 90 to win the unaffiliated low
gross tourney.
Tom Smith was closest to pin six (5’10”).
Skins winners were Megan Cercone and Kathy Pedine (holes 13, 14,
17), Patsy Arrowsmith and Lorrie Vecellio (hole 8), Jan Brown and
Mary Sue Golen (hole 2), Kim Borkowski and Judy Abbey (hole 12) and
Susan Bastedo and Renee Klesczcynski (hole 10).
Proceeds from the tourney benefit the SPCA.
