Four divisions to step-off in annual Bradford Memorial Day parade

Four divisions will step-off and take part in the annual
Memorial Day parade at 10:15 a.m. today, according to the Memorial
Day Parade and Program Committee.

Units will start forming for the parade line-up at 9:30 a.m.

The first division should form on Davis Street to Boylston
Street except for the City of Bradford Fire Department, which
should form on Davis Street to Elm Street. The first division line
up should be the police escort and colors, Bradford City Fire
Department, VFW Post 212 and colorguard, American Legion Post #108,
Pennsylvania National Guard, DAV Chapter #72, parade marshal Lloyd
Fiscus, all available veterans, Bradford Area Senior High School
Marching Band, the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department and the
Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The second division should form at the intersection of Boylston
and Davis streets to Kennedy Street. This division should line up
the Frances Sherman VFW Post #212 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion
Post #108 Ladies Auxiliary, Floyd C. Fretz Middle School Marching
Band, YMCA Train, Lewis Run Volunteer Fire Department and the
Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department.

The third division should form at the corner of Davis Street on
the post office side to Amm Street. The third division consists of
a line-up of the School Street Elementary School Marching Band,
Bradford Cub Scouts #498, Bradford Cub Scouts #416, Boy Scout Troop
#498, Bradford Neighborhood Girl Scouts float, Bradford
Neighborhood Girl Scouts truck, Bradford Little League and the Rew
Volunteer Fire Department.

The fourth division should line-up at the intersection of Davis
and Amm streets to Williams Street. This division should line-up
starting with the St. Bernard Elementary and Middle School Marching
Band, Hill Street Honeys Red Hat Society, McKean County SPCA,
Street Dreams Float, Street Dreams Car Club, McKean County Chapter
of the ATV Traction and the Corydon Township Volunteer Fire
Department.

Any veterans who would like to participate in the parade are
welcome and should meet on Davis Street by the Dollar General.

The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in Veterans Square. The
master of ceremony for the event will be U.S. Air Force Master Sgt.
Kristofer Goll, who was previously announced as the guest speaker.
The new guest speaker for the event was not announced Sunday.

There will be the assembly by Kevin McMurtrie and a musical
selection by the Bradford Area High School Marching Band. The
General Logan Order will be read by 2nd Lt. Kevin Tingley. The
placing of the spray will be done by Francis Sherman VFW Post #212
Ladies Auxiliary President Debi Bigley and Chaplain Terrie Piller
and American Legion Post #108 Ladies Auxiliary President Lucy Nuzzo
and Chaplain Evelyn Roberts. The reading of the Flanders Field will
be done by Sgt. Scott Tingley.

The decoration of symbolic graves will be done by Dave Newman.
Representatives will include Jim Belardia for the U.S. Army, Ron
Thumpston for the U.S. Navy, John Frontino for the Air Force, Ray
Magnetti for the U.S. Marines and Ray Galle for the Jewish
veterans. The Pennsylvania National Guard will be doing the rifle
salute. Taps will be performed by McMurtrie. The benediction will
said by the Rev. Mary Houck.
