“It was a good effort by our kids despite poor weather
conditions,” BAHS coach Larry Stillman said. “They were willing to
try hard and compete at a high level.
“Bob, Greg, Mark and I are in general pleased with what we saw.
Erin (four firsts) dominated her events and won the most
outstanding field event performer for the AAA division.
“Our hurdlers – Erin, Chloe, Bobbi and Kevryn – all looked good.
Chloe and Bobbi had personal bests. Tricia Copeland had a great day
– three firsts and a second. She had an outstanding 100 race.
Lindsay Sherman looked good in the 200 and 400.
“In the middle distance Katie White had a good 800 and looked
good in the relays. Sarah Lonzi had two firsts and ran an excellent
3200. She won the outstanding track Class AAA performer. Renee
Cavallaro and Erica Pascarella had personal best races in the 3200
in tough conditions. Katie Vecellio had a great throw in the discus
placing third. We are very happy as she has been battling an arm
injury and it’s nice to see her back.
“Our relays looked pretty good. The 4×400 at the end of a long
day really went at it with Elk County Catholic in a good race. It
was a nice invitational. It would be nice to have at least one
invitational this year in good conditions so we could show what we
really can do. The heart of our season starts this week.
Punxsutawney comes to town Tuesday. They are a tough, well-coached
team. It should be a great meet.”
