DUBOIS – The Bradford Owls rolled to a 104-46 victory over
DuBois in high school track and field action Tuesday.
Shane Hvizdzak (100 dash, 400 relay, 1600 relay) and Rob Bleem
(discus, shot put, javelin) tripled for the Owls.
Shroy Mukerjee (1600 relay, 3200 relay), Ben Walter (200 dash,
400 relay), Josh Holleran (1600 relay, 400 relay), Venere Maynard
(1600 relay, 400 dash) and Rich Bartlebaugh (3200 relay, high jump)
each doubled for the Owls.
Walter also took second place in long jump with a leap of 17’10”
and third in the 100 dash with a time of 11.8; Holleran placed
second in the 200 dash; Maynard took second in the 100 dash with a
personal best time of 11.7; and Bartlebaugh earned second place
honors in the triple jump.
“For a cold, windy day like this it was a pretty good
performance,” said BHS coach Tom Tessena. “I think we came through
this meet in pretty good shape.”
Also leading the Owls were Andy Preston, who took second in the
hurdles, while Ben Moran ran his fastest time in the mile with a
4:58.
Garrett McCune and Dan Sutton both performed well in the shot
put, with distances of 41’10” and 41’9″, respectively. Alex Goodman
had a personal best in the 400 dash with a time of 56.5 and Colton
Langianese had his best throw in the javelin with a 144’2″.
The Owls (2-0) host Olean High on Thursday.
