Megan Richards scored 16 points as the Pitt-Bradford Lady
Panthers posted a 59-33 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference
victory over La Roche College at the Sport & Fitness Center on
Saturday.
The Lady Panthers finish the regular season on a three-game
winning streak at 12-13 overall and 10-8 in the AMCC. Fifth-seeded
Pitt-Bradford will travel to No. 4 Penn State Behrend (16-9, 12-6)
on Tuesday (6 p.m.) for the first round of the AMCC playoffs. La
Roche (7-18, 5-13) was eliminated with the loss.
Pitt-Bradford never trailed in the contest and led 21-9 at the
intermission as Richards was 4-for-8 from the floor for eight
points.
“The first half was very slow,” said Daly Fuller, Pitt-Bradford
head coach. “We took some good shots, but we just could not
finish.”
In the second half, the Lady Panthers led by 29 points on three
occasions.
“We came out of the locker room and picked up the tempo of the
game,” Fuller recalled. “We ran the floor much better and shot much
better in the second half. It was a great win for our seniors
(Chelsey Cummings, Rose Wilken and Katie Barrett).”
Amanda Williams had 12 points on 8-for-8 from the foul line,
Taiasha Brown had four blocks and nine rebounds, and Cummings had
nine boards for Pitt-Bradford, who as a team outrebounded La Roche
42-22.
