Taiasha Brown scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds in
Pitt-Bradford’s 61-42 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference
victory over Lake Erie College at the Sport & Fitness Center on
Friday.
The Lady Panthers trailed 19-18 with 2:55 left in the first half
when a bucket by Brown started a 9-1 run that gave Pitt-Bradford a
27-20 lead at the half.
In the second half the Storm (6-16, 5-12) pulled within two at
29-27, but the Lady Panthers used a 10-3 spurt to open a 37-28
advantage with 13:51 remaining.
“We came out in the second half, settled down, executed our
offenses better and played much better man-to-man defense,” said
Daly Fuller, Pitt-Bradford head coach. “We shot much better tonight
as well. Megan (Richards) carried us in the first half by shooting
6-of-8 from the floor, and Amanda Williams came off the bench and
gave us a spark.”
Richards scored 16 points and Williams added 12 points for the
Lady Panthers (11-13, 9-8), who will host La Roche College today (4
p.m.) in their final home game of the season.
