Hot shooting lifts Owls

DUBOIS – Bradford High shot 59 percent from the field
(29-for-49) and rolled to a 75-37 rout of DuBois in a District 9
League game Friday.

The Owls also outrebounded the Beavers (10-12, 6-6) 31-19 and
limited the hosts to just 15 second-half points.

“We shot really well,” said Dave Fuhrman, BHS coach. “We moved
the ball well and ran the floor well. We traditionally play well on
this court. We’ve played a lot of good games here over the years –
I wish we could move these rims to our floor.”

“We also played good on-the-ball defense. They’ve (DuBois) got
some guys who can break you down off the dribble and we played
tough on-the-ball defense.”

Leading the Owls were Tommy Morris with 28 points and seven
boards, Eric Arnett with 18 points and seven rebounds, Ben Lanich
with eight points and six boards and Shane Hvizdzak with five
points and seven assists.

“Tommy Morris had a heck of a game,” Fuhrman declared. “He was
on fire in the first half and he had 21 points at halftime. He’s
really been playing well.

“Eric had a good game with 18 points. We got the ball inside to
him,” Fuhrman added.

“We all played very well. I don’t think we could have played
much better. We played well in every phase of the game. Everyone
contributed “

The Owls, now 14-9 overall and 10-2 in the league, will wrap up
the regular season at Keystone on Wednesday.

“We look like we’re coming together and this is the right time
to be peaking,” Fuhrman reasoned. “I hope our best basketball is
yet to come. This is when you want to be playing well.”
