Fuhrman ignites Lady Owls

Shelly Fuhrman poured in 28 points to lead Bradford to a 74-39
victory over DuBois in girls high school basketball action on
Friday.

“Fuhrman shot her lights out tonight,” praised Doug Lloyd, BHS
coach. “She was 11-for-15 on the night.”

Also for the Lady Owls, Whitney Cline had 16 points, 11 rebounds
and six steals and Nikki Siffrin added six points with seven
assists.

“As a team we all shot well,” Lloyd continued. “We had great
ball movement. Nikki Siffrin ran the break with seven assists,
which is great. I think we had one turnover on the game.

“Whitney Cline had five blocks as well. She had one heck of a
night. Megan Perschke did a nice job on the boards. She definitely
stopped their inside player which was really good.

“Katie White did a nice job defensively coming in. Liz Keller
was playing really well but she twisted her ankle and was out for
the game. She’ll be ready to play by playoffs.

“(DuBois’) Wilcox is a great player,” offered Lloyd. “She had to
earn every point, but it was our night tonight.

“They came up tonight and caught us on probably the best
shooting night we’ve had all year. We played hard and it was a nice
way to end the regular season.

“Coach Marasco and Coach Carpenter have done a great job all
year long,” Lloyd noted. “They got the team up and read the game
really well. It’s great to have them and we couldn’t do it without
them. They are a great asset to the team and the reason we’re doing
as well as we are.

“But we aren’t done yet,” Lloyd promised. “In the playoffs,
everyone starts over at 0-0, and it’s the best time of year. We’re
getting ready.”
