BHS, Clearfield finners swim to draw

Ellie Imhof tripled but it wasn’t quite enough as Bradford High
battled to an 85-85 tie with Clearfield in girls swimming action
Friday.

Imhof was victorious in the 100 fly and the 200 IM and was a
member of the 200 free relay.

“The girls’ meet was very, very exciting,” said Pam Digel, BHS
coach. “They beat us down there (in Clearfield) by one point and,
obviously, we wanted to beat them in our home pool. I really think
the kids gave it their all.

“I was pleased with the performances of Libby Cavagnaro, Katie
Slavinski and Erica Pascarella to complement Ellie Imhof’s triple.
Our younger swimmers like Heather Vickery, Janie Reiley and Kate
Cohen gave us some very important place tonight, too.”

The Lady Owls are now 6-3-1.

On the boys side, Clearfield cruised past Bradford (2-7-1)
121-39.

“The boys swam a solid meet,” Digel said. “We’re looking forward
to our league meet next week.”

Clearfield’s John Lytle, a 2005 PIAA champion, broke two pool
records (50 free, 100 free) previously held by Bradford’s Aaron
Bell.

The BHS finners will hit the pool again next Thursday and Friday
at the District 9 League meet.
