COUDERSPORT – Danielle Furman accounted for 18 points and Hope
Morris 14 to send Coudersport (19-1) to a 56-43 win over Bradford
in a non-league girls basketball game Wednesday night.
Furman, who reached the 1,000-point mark in Tuesday’s North Tier
League victory over Cameron County, added eight assists in
Wednesday’s game.
Kristy Kamper pulled down 17 rebounds and had four assists.
Jessica Wilson added 10 tallies.
“Bradford gave us everything I was expecting out of them,”
Coudersport coach Brian Green said. “It was a playoff-type game for
us.”
Leading the Lady Owls (10-11) was Whitney Cline with 14
points.
Coudersport led by five points late in the third quarter and
outscored Bradford 11-5 in the final stanza to seal the win.
“We were a little more aggressive and took the ball to the
basket,” Green said of the second half. “It was a great game by
both teams. We just happened to have the last run.
“Kamper did a phenomenal job on the boards. I thought both teams
played hard. It was a physical game. The officials did a good job
of keeping things in check.”
Coudersport returns to action Friday at Northern Potter, while
the Lady Owls host DuBois the same night.
