Nobody injured in East Main Street fire Monday

Nobody was hurt in a fire at 1:14 p.m. Monday at 319 E. Main
St., that caused smoke damage throughout the first floor.

According to a member of the Bradford City Fire Department,
firefighters received a 911 call for smoke and fire showing at a
two-story house owned by Cathy Mitchell.

Officials said there was smoke, heat and fire damage to the
living room and smoke damage throughout the first floor. A state
police fire marshal is set to conduct an investigation into the
cause of the fire this morning, but the city firefighter said the
fire started in the living room.

Mitchell, Marsha Mitchell and Elizabeth Mitchell lived at the
residence. Marsha Mitchell was home at the time of the fire but was
able to get out. According to the city firefighter, the American
Red Cross was making some arrangements for the family.

Ten firefighters, Tower 1 and Engine 1 responded to the scene.
Firefighters breached the door, got into the living room and
knocked down the fire, according to the city firefighter.
Firefighters were on the scene for about 15 minutes.

The Special Police also directed traffic at the scene.
