Lady Panthers earn AMCC win

ALTOONA – Katie Moore scored 14 points to lift Pitt-Bradford to
a 61-54 win over Penn State Altoona in Allegheny Mountain
Collegiate Conference women’s basketball Friday.

“We played hard and we got a good win 61,” said UPB coach Daly
Fuller.

Chelsey Cummings also paced the Lady Panthers (8-12, 6-7) with
12 points and eight boards. Taiasha Brown had 11 points and nine
rebounds, Megan Richards had 10 rebounds, Rachel Smith added eight
marks and Amanda Williams had seven tallies.

“Cummings came off the bench rebounding very well and gave us a
huge lift,” commented Fuller.

“We didn’t shoot well at all in the first half. We missed six or
seven layups and we also turned the ball over too many times.”

For Penn State Altoona (4-14), center Brooke Gardner threw in 20
points.

“Gardner only averages a couple points a game and we didn’t keep
her off the boards,” Fuller noted.

“We had some trouble on defense in the first half but we
executed better in the second half.”

UPB made 22 of 30 free throws and six of them were in the final
minutes from Moore.

“Moore made some big foul shots at the end of the game,” praised
Fuller.

Also leading Altoona was Brittany Poorman with 16 points.

The Lady Panthers are in action today at Mount Aloysius
College.
