PUNXSUTAWNEY – The Bradford Lady Owls shot a dismal 12-for-33
from the field en route to a 55-32 setback at the hands of
Punxsutawney in District 9 League play Friday.
“We aren’t going to beat teams shooting the ball 33 times in a
game,” lamented BHS coach Doug Lloyd.
Knocking in 14 points, Whitney Cline was the lone Lady Owl in
double figures.
Cline also led BHS defensively with seven boards.
Other notable Lady Owls were Nikki Siffrinn dishing out five
assists, Tricia Copeland nabbing four steals and Shelly Fuhrman
grabbing four rebounds.
“We just did not shot the ball well tonight,” Lloyd added.
The Lady Owls were 6-for-16 from the charity strip (37 percent)
and turned the ball over 23 times.
Lloyd concluded, “They (Punxsy) were just a better team
tonight.”
The Lady Owls (9-9) will host the Lady Dutch of St. Marys on
Tuesday.
