PITTSBURGH – Rarely can a team shoot 25 percent from the floor
and still win the game.
But, that’s what Pitt-Bradford did Friday, shooting 15-for-60
and still posting a 39-33 AMCC victory.
Perhaps the fact that La Roche College turned in a 23.5 percent
effort (12-for-51) had something to do with that.
“I don’t know how that (the win) happened,” admitted Daly
Fuller, UPB coach. “It wasn’t pretty.
“They played a 2-3 zone – we got good looks inside under the
basket and we were 1-for-17 under the basket in the first half.
“We could not put the ball in the hole, but it was a very
physical game. The officials weren’t calling any contact.”
Rose Wilken’s nine points paced the winners.
“This was a game that we needed to win and we came out got job
done,” Fuller praised. “Now we have to be ready to play tomorrow
(today).”
The Lady Panthers are at Lake Erie College today (4 p.m.).
With Friday’s win, Pitt-Bradford’s record improves to 6-8
overall and 4-3 in the AMCC.
