Miller to be inducted into hall of fame

Bradford resident and American kenpo karate expert Michael
Miller will be inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame next
month.

Induction ceremonies will be Feb. 4 in Jamaica, N.Y.

Miller was notified of his induction by USA Martial Arts Hall of
Fame Director Dr. Jim Thomas.

“I was surprised,” Miller said Monday night. “It was unexpected.
It’s a big honor. It’s something I have always been shooting for. I
didn’t expect it this soon.”

Miller, 26, is owner/head instructor of Miller’s Kenpo Karate
Dojo located at 443 East Main St. in Bradford. He holds a fourth
degree black belt in American kenpo.

Miller has been studying the martial arts for 16 years and has
been teaching for seven.

He has direct contact with some of the most well known and best
martial artists in the world including Chuck Norris, Bob Wall, Don
“The Dragon” Wilson, Joe Lewis, Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, Benny
“The Jet” Urquidez, Richard Norton, Gene LeBell and Larry
Tatum.

Miller has been a personal member of World Black Belt for three
years and also has a school membership, making him business
partners with founders Chuck Norris and Bob Wall.

He is also a member of the Eastern Kenpo Karate Society located
in El Paso, Texas.

Miller has become widely known in the martial arts industry
through his relationships with the top experts in the world and
with what he has done to display his skill and knowledge.

Miller has had several articles featured in Inside Kung-fu and
Black Belt magazines. In addition, he has interviewed some of the
top martial artists in the world to quote in his non-fiction
martial arts book he has been writing.

Miller has taught many seminars including rape safe for women
(Pitt-Bradford), Diffusing Barroom Conflict (RA staff at
Pitt-Bradford), Hand to Hand Combat (National Guard), joint lock
procedures for police officers, karate clinics for McKean County
Care for Children, Kenpo seminars for Bradford High and several
self-defense seminars.
