Katelyn Scanlan and her brother Andrew, practice their Irish
dancing at the Church of Ascension on Thursday afternoon.. They are
the children of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Scanlan of Bradford.
The Scanlans will be performing during the meet the artist
reception to be held at the Church of Ascension on Friday evening.
The event will give First Night patrons a chance to view the art
work early as well as enjoy music, hours d’oeuvres and living
sculptures. The reception will be held from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. The
reception as well as First Night activities concludes a year long
celebration of the church’s 125th anniversary.
This year First Night art show goers can see some new additions
to the exhibit. Hand blown glass, pottery as well as watercolors,
oils, shadowbox art and photography. Twelve artists will be showing
their work.
Also new this year are two college guest artists from Kutztown
and Alfred State University.
The art show opens on New Years Eve at 2 PM and closes that same
evening at 11:45 PM
The Irish dancers can also been seen, during First Night,
performing at the First United Methodist Church at 7:30 PM.
