Officials at Bradford Regional Medical Center have announced the
immediate appointment of a board-certified women’s health
specialist to provide services to obstetric and gynecology patients
in the Suzzallo Medical Arts Building.
Peter M. Delneky, M.D., FACOG, will provide services in the
offices of the late Manhot Lau, Ph.D., M.D., who died unexpectedly
on Feb. 2 following a brief illness.
“We have conducted our recruitment efforts since then with an
eye toward finding the right fit for our community and we believe
we’ve found that in Dr. Delneky,” said Bradford Regional Medical
Center President/Chief Executive Officer George E. Leonhardt. “What
Dr. Delneky brings to women’s health at the Medical Center is
advanced services and exemplary skills, with a special interest in
meeting the needs of gynecology patients and the unique needs of
those with menopause issues.”
His areas of specializations also include infertility,
laparoscopy and pelvic surgery. Delneky’s practice, Bradford
Obstetrics/Gynecology, is located at 159 Interstate Parkway. His
office is current taking appointments with continuing or new

Delneky completed undergraduate studies at Loyola University of
Chicago in Chicago, Ill., and obtained his medical training at Rush
Medical School/Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, and Autonomous
University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He completed an
internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercy
Hospital/Medical Center of Chicago in Chicago. He is certified in
obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and
Gynecology.
The new specialist is joining the BRMC medical staff from his
most recent appointment as attending physician at Swedish Covenant
Hospital in Chicago. Through 2004, he served as chairman of the SCH
Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, director of the
Obstetrics/Gynecology Training of Family Practice Residency Program
and Chairman of the hospital’s Credentials Committee. Prior to his
recent relocation to Bradford, he also served at Resurrection
Hospital, Weiss Memorial Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and Our
Lady of the Resurrection Hospital, all located in Chicago.
BRMC’s new specialist has been a member of the Medical
Admissions Committee for Autonomous University of Guadalajara since
1982 and serves as a member of the University’s Alumni Association
Board of Directors.
He has a special interest in karate, has attained several honors
as a member of the U.S. National Karate-Do Federation and served as
medical advisor to the U.S. Olympic Committee from 1991 to
2000.
