Race scores 32 as Panthers rally

ELMIRA, N.Y. – Pitt-Bradford rallied from a 30-28 halftime
deficit to defeat Elmira College 75-65 in non-conference men’s
basketball Tuesday night.

A pair of Bradford (Pa.) High graduates paced the Panthers. Ryan
Race poured in a game-high 32 points and Jon Hannon added 17.

Rob Copley (12 points) and Dan Thomas (10) were also in double
figures for the Panthers (4-3).

“We played so much better in the second half,” praised Andy
Moore, Pitt-Bradford coach. “We shot the ball well. Ryan Race had
20 points in the second half. Rob Copley scored all 12 of his
points in the second half and Jon Hannon scored 13 of his 17 points
in the second half.”

Moore was pleased with the road win.

“It was a good overall team effort for us,” he noted. “It’s been
hard for us to win on the road. But this was a great win for us. I
hope it will help out with our confidence.”

Leading Elmira (2-4) was Micah Owens with 23 tallies.

The Panthers return to action Thursday hosting Fredonia State at
7:30 p.m.
