RIDGWAY (EC) – Downtown Ridgway’s 2005 Yuletide Memories Holiday
Shopping Open House will start Friday.
Hours for the second annual old-fashioned Christmas shopping
event will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The event will focus on several specialty shops for gift-giving
as well as holiday decorating. Many locations will offer
refreshments.
The tour will begin at the Clarion River Trading Co. at 10 North
Broad St. The second stop is JennyLin Antiques & Gift Shoppe at
114 N. Broad St.
Elkwood Arts at 324 Allenhurst Ave. features hand-crafted wood
products and benefits the adults with developmental
disabilities.
The Elk County Path, located on Main Street across from the Elk
County Courthouse, is the home of chocolate elk antlers. There,
Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with the children from 2 to 4 p.m.
Sunday.
Two Scoops, another new shop on Main Street, features a 1950’s
Old Fashioned Soda Fountain.
Elk County Council on the Arts will offer fresh pine wreaths for
sale on the sidewalk and local artists’ work in the gallery.
Cliffe’s and The Prescription Center, along with Dan Smith’s
Candies and Gifts and Rossi Fine Jewelers, are also on the
tour.
The Gothic Gallery is the tenth business featured on the tour.
Keystone True Value Hardware, located at 14 Main St., is also on
the tour as are JoRae’s Quilt Shop located at 16 South Mill St. in
a turn-of-the-century home and South Street Botanical Design of 130
South St.
The final stop on the tour is the Ridgway Elks Social Club
located in the century-old Hyde Murphy Mansion which features
exceptional woodwork and stained glass windows. The club will be
open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, but
will be closed Sunday.
