At the bear check station on Monday afternoon, Katoura Williams,
a student at UPB, collects tissue and fur samples for DNA testing.
The samples will be sent to East Strousburg University for DNA
testing. The DNA information will be used to compile information of
Black Bears in PA, such as lineage of the black bears in our state,
if some are inner-breed and if there is an over pupulation of
them.
